The ingredients needed to make Khichdi:
- Get 3 cups of Rice.
- Get 1/3 cup of Bengal gram.
- You need 2 of Tomato medium size.
- Use 3 of Green chillies.
- Take 1 piece of Ginger.
- Get 1 tsp of Chilli powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Coriander powder.
- Prepare 1/3 tsp of Garam masala.
- Get to taste of Salt.
- Get 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- Prepare 1 pinch of Asafoetida.
- Use 2 tbsp of Peanut.
- Take 2 tbsp of Sunflower oil.
- Use 1 cup of Green peas.
- Take 50 gm of Paneer.
Instructions to make Khichdi:
- Clean the rice and Bengal gram and soak it in water.
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in the pressure cooker.
- Add Peanut, asafoetida, cumin seeds, green chillies and ginger.
- Add tomatoes, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt mix well cook for 3-4 mins.
- Drain off the water from rice and Bengal gram and add it to the mixture in the cooker.
- Mix well and cook for 10 mins keep stirring so that it does not stick to the bottom of the cooker..
- Add enough water (appx.7cups) so that there is a layer of 1.5 cm of water floating on top of the rice dal mixture..
- Mix well and then close the cooker with it's lid. Pressure cook upto 3 whistles. Serve hot with curd and pickle..
